I like it better than donor rap, but the message to donor rap is a bit more important (especially when you've put your organs through that kind of abuse)

yeah but try having vultures take your organs before you're done with them. One of the booths at the State Fair asked if I was a donor ( I am ) then proceeding to tell me how I could live with just one kidney. I told them I'll keep it for now just in case. True story

Wish I could remember the lawyer joke about everything getting multiplied by 2 and a kidney donation...

I've heard quite a few stories like this and this is what prevents me from doing the organ donor thing...

Something like... if you get in a car accident and are seriously injured, paramedics are less committed to try and save you if you are an organ donor, cuz at least they can get some spare parts off ya...

I would rather not believe stuff like that but I think I'll just leave my organ donations to a voluntary decision... like perhaps to a dear friend or family member.

Granted, whenever Phil does the donor rap, I feel very grateful that he is up there playing because of that young man's liver but that doesn't mean I would give my own. Is that really so selfish?

No, it's not selfish , deadpolitics,to not want to donate organs ,live or dead ! I don't want anyone to give an organ even to save my life ,and i refuse to donate organs too . It gives me the jitters ,this sort of cannibal medecine ,and i registered to refuse organs donations, and feel it's the right way to do ,for me!

I registered to refuse organs donations because in France if you don't do that ,then ,they have the legal and systematic rights to take organs ,,unless people register specifically against it !

me being fairly destitute, I'd agree with no donated oregons.
I can hear the VA doctors saying...
"hmmm...rastamon could be cured with this expensive treatment, but hey now, his ID says he's a donor...he's worth more to us DEAD!!"

am i a selfish paranoid??

I have a donor card - I don't much care what they do with my carcass after I'm gone. That said, I'm doing whatever I can to wear everything fucking out before I'm done with it.

Rastamon, find other ways to get money than ever selling a kidney ,little angel ,be most warry on this issues because i heard aboud werterners talked into giving or selling a kidney and it dwindlles health ,causing extreme fatigue ,and as added result the impossibility to keep a demanding job/carrier .YOU are not really poor as long as you got good health ,Even to have real good fun it's best to have good health which not only meke you feel fine but is usefull for jobs to do ,travels ,parties ,raising a family !The only morality is to reserve organ donation to save your mom or kids lives ,and i'd never condemne anyone who 'd refuse to do it ,period !

The new song sounds real good until the singing starts. This whole band sounds damn good except that, Goodness Gracious, none of them can sing worth a tiny turd! I vote for an all instrumental show.

PS: I am alive today because I received a donated kidney.

Life is worth preserving. Body parts are just body parts. When I die, I hope every scrap of my body that's still useful will be donated to someone who might live a better life after I enter eternity. Those recipients might even be some folks who enjoys archive.org!

1) It is great that Phil is lobbying for organ donations!

2) It is not selfish to refuse to donate. It is absolutely OK to say No, I don't want to donate. There's no need to justify that decision. But, it is a very sad thing if somebody is willing to donate but nobody knows it, and then someone who could have used an organ dies.

3) The laws around the US generally default to "do not donate", in the absence of a clear "OK" by the donor. Even with a signed donor card, often family members can override a donor's wishes.

4) People who *are* willing to donate should tell all of their family and friends that they wish to donate. Seriously! Put it in writing.

5) Fear of vulture doctors and EMT's is irrational, if not clinically paranoid. If you don't want to donate, fine, but find a better reason than that one.
